Lots of you might aware that the FCC just repealed Net Neutrality yesterday. If you think the internet is going to die because of it, this doesn't mean it's not going anywhere. It just means that the ISPs might increase the internet taxes, not have to pay to go to the sites; which means we have to pay for fast lanes. The internet will continue to live by the next day or so, but the money will increase; depending on the ISPs' policies. Yes, it has been a stressful day for us Americans, but according to the officials, it's not official until Congress passes it. I kept hearing rumors that the voting was illegal but I haven't found any research about it yet. Net neutrality was put in place in 2015 because Comcast blocked BitTorrent nor Torrent-related sites (well some of them). The reason why I made this journal was because I had an anxiety attack, and I want to get this off of my chest. This Net Neutrality paranoia is making me stressful and when I mean stressful: I get anxiety attacks; to tell you the truth. The good news is that it kinda died down a little bit but I'm still worried. I'm worried that I have to pay money for going to some sites, but... what about independent sites? That's a good question! But in reality, the internet isn't dead and we have to pay fees for our internet taxes, and most ISPs are not perfect. I believe the repealing of Net Neutrality is against the First Amendment and freedom of speech, I believe the internet is all about freedom and not just about money, and I believe the internet will continue to live to this day. What the FCC did was a mistake and they have been treating our freedom like shit. I pray for Congress to overturn this repeal, and hope to God that things will be OK.
If you want to continue to support Net Neutrality, you can still continue to contact your congressmen by going to this site: www.battleforthenet.com
BTW, if anyone knows who the Georgia Congressmen is, please feel free to leave a comment on here, I rather send an email to the congressmen since I had plans to contact that person by email instead of calling them, since I'm not really a phone person. I will continue to update this Journal just in case there's something in mind. Thanks!
